Ballot Information
Voter Registration

Open until October 21

  • Register online through the Illinois State Board of Elections. Illinois driver's license or state identification is required.

  • Register in person
    at any Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles facility.

  • Grace Registration
    Available at any early voting site, your assigned Election Day voting site, or weekdays during business hours at the Clerk’s office.

Requirements


You must:
  • be a U.S. citizen,
  • be a resident of your precinct for 30 days before Election Day,
  • be 18 years old on or before the general election,
    AND
  • provide two forms of valid identification
    Both pieces of identification must show your name and one must show your current physical Lake County address.

Voting Options
 

Voting by Mail

  • Aug. 8 to Nov. 1 @ noon
  • Required application.
  • Clerk's office must receive your completed application by noon on Thursday, Nov. 1.
  • According to Illinois state statute, ballots cannot be mailed to voters until late September.
  • Your voted ballot must be returned to the Clerk's office with a postmark no later than midnight on Election Day.
